Small Horse Mandala - Native American Art
Among Native Americans, the mandala represents a means of connection with God. This one is about 3" in diameter, hand painted by a Navajo artist on a real deerskin leather.
The meaning of the mandala is in many ways the same as that found in other cultures. Native Americans believed that the form represents:
- The circle of life and the path from birth to death
- The unification of man, nature and the spiritual in a cyclical form
- A way to communicate with creators
